Sheila established the Brackenhollow championship line with the AKC over 50 years ago. An internationally recognized breeder, trainer and judge, she devoted her life to bettering the breed. Having had Goldens all her life she imported one of the first light colored English males into the US. He was one of several English males and females that contributed to producing the Brackenhollow line which became well known for their excellent temperament, high intelligence and good looks, while competing successfully in show ring, field, and obedience or as a hunting companion. Their family friendly temperament was of paramount importance. Sheila did not want to produce a show winner with no brains or a field trial champion with a bad temperament that was unrecognizable as a Golden Retriever.
Brackenhollow pups have been the top Golden in Field Trial of all time, top female for 2 years running, show and utility champions, service, seeing eye, search and rescue, and therapy dogs.
